We take children from 18 months (toddler group) to six years old (Grade R).
The junior section has three classes:
- Toddler Group
- Red Group
- Yellow Group
The senior section has two classes of pre-schoolers:
- Green Group
- Blue Group
Each class has a qualified teacher capable of taking care of all the needs of your child.
We've been helping children develop into caring individuals since 1991. We are located in a beautiful garden in Sunninghill, north of Johannesburg.

Sunninghill Park Nursery School is a nurturing, secure environment for children to grow. We encourage your child's social, emotional and cognitive development through a variety of activities. We use music to introduce perceptual awareness. To work the large motor skills and to encourage your child's love of sport, we have a fully-equipped gym called the "Gym in the Jungle" -- a first for South Africa.
To help you track your child's growth, we conduct daily observations of each child. In addition to frequent check-in's with parents, we provide you with one verbal and two written progress reports per annum.
We have an Occupational Therapist and a Speech Therapist on the premises for children who need extra help. Every term we invite specialists into the school, at no extra cost to you, to entertain the children with educational shows. We take the children on a special excursion every year, to the zoo or a farm. You are invited to join us for concerts and Mini Olympics!
We have a wonderful track record with our teachers – some of them have been with Sunninghill for ten years or longer. All our staff are truly dedicated and work together to provide your child with the best environment for learning and play.
Communication is encouraged between parent and teacher, regarding the physical, mental and emotional development of your child. Each child individually is important to us. We are looking forward to an exciting and fulfilling year.
Procedures at School
• Newsletters are issued on a monthly basis.
• Progress reports are issued twice yearly.
• Outings and shows are arranged.
• A concert is held annually and all children participate.
